Torch Hybrid was formed by a group of University of Michigan graduate students passionate about boating, who recognized that the time has come for a fundamental change in the way boats are powered and managed.  Today’s yacht’s and powerboats are propelled by the same basic gas- guzzling, noisy, polluting technology that was introduced over a century ago.  At Torch Hybrid, we are dedicated to enabling advanced powertrain manufactures to evolve into the next generation of hybrid-electric propulsion.
